Hello
My name is Jeremy Alvarez, I am nationally certified through the Board of Certification (BOC) as an Athletic Trainer (AT). ATs are highly qualified , multi-skilled allied health care professionals. I was originally trained to work with athletes in sports settings but I have since gained experience working in the industrial setting, Physical Therapy and Chiropractor clinics, nursing homes, and with physical education programs for elementary and middle schools. My nearly 10 years of experience as an AT has been packed with tremendous experiences surrounded by great people.
My Story
My passion for sports medicine started long ago. I was a student athlete and I didn't have anyone to help me to recover from my injury. Ultimately the injury kept me from doing from what I love. From that moment I made a promise to myself to do everything in my power to prevent anyone else from going through what I went through. Obtaining both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Kinesiology allowed me to learn from the most intelligent minds in the field of sports medicine. That foundation motivated me to seek opportunities to provide care for diverse populations so that I could maximize my knowledge of how the body functions.
Through my journey, I learned that most people's injuries are preventable and should be treated with a holistic approach. For example, rather than only treating the injured body part, it is important to address how the injury may have affected the ability of other areas of the body to kick, run, or jump normally. My philosophy towards sports medicine is built around the unique abilities and goals of each one of my patients, with the aim of addressing the root cause of the problem by enriching lifestyles.
